
About Margarite Clarey
Margarite Clarey is a freelance journalist specialised in conflict, politics and human rights.
Her writing has been published by outlets, including Al Jazeera, The New Humanitarian, Deutsche Press-Agentur (dpa) International, The Diplomat, Frontier Myanmar and Right Now Magazine, among others.

Currently based in Brisbane, Australia, she has reported from Myanmar, Bangladesh, Tunisia and from within the United Nations press corps in Geneva.
​
Her work has taken her into the homes of people living and surviving in active conflict zones, refugee camps, and remote villages on the fringes of development in Asia and North Africa.
She has also worked and consulted for international non-governmental organisations in Myanmar, Libya and Switzerland and brings expertise in humanitarian advocacy, communications and editing.

A journalist by trade, she has an MA in International Affairs from the Graduate Institute in Geneva.
